Tgms Ltd selected by Sport England to support their framework for the Consultancy Services for Natural Grass Pitches

We are pleased to announce that we have been selected by Sport England to support their framework for the Consultancy Services for Natural Grass Pitches across England both on the Protecting Playing Fields programme and other ad-hoc services and for providing support to other contracting third parties / Clients. After a rigorous EU compliant procurement process we are one of 4 successful Framework Providers.

The requirements include:

Visiting and surveying sites for condition and suitability;

Preparing feasibility reports;

Securing Planning Permission;

Specifying and tendering construction works;

Contract Administration during construction phase;

Maintenance Management.

It is anticipated over the life of the framework, over 300 pitches will be surveyed and improved and a potential construction value of £15m.

The framework will provide individual Clients with an informed ‘one stop shop’ for their project from initial feasibility through to post contract and maintenance management.

This 4 year framework agreement is a part of a new strategy by Sport England to facilitate the delivery of new and upgraded sports facilities across England through frameworks for the Places People Play programme, but also subsequent funding programmes.

The framework agreement is also available for use directly by other public sector bodies, National Governing Bodies of Sport right down to individual sports clubs, etc in England with the aim that community level projects are provided in line with Sport England’s best practice documentation and Design Guidance Notes.

Sport England "Natural Turf for Sport - Design Guidance Notes 2011" Released.

Tgms Ltd have been assiting Sport England, by providing technical advice and content, to update the "Natural Turf for Sport - Design Guidance Note".

The aim of the Guidance Note is to promote a greater general understanding of overall design concepts as well as an appreciation of technical issues and the critical design factors of individual sports.

New Leica Viva GPS Purchased

Tgms Ltd have made a significant investment in upgrading their surveying equipment, by purchasing the state of the art Leica Viva GPS System.

The Leica Viva GPS system allows our survey team to fully utilise all available satelite systems, and take advantage of the Smartnet correction service, allowing them to work to the Ordanance Survey National Grid whilst in the field.

Oliver Munro, Surveyor and Field Engineer, pronounced himself "Extremely happy with the new GPS equipment" before going on to state "this not only ensures that we can continue to provide our existing sevices, but we can now also offer additional services such as setting out a site for re-grading, setting out pitch locations and as built surveys"
