Ventilation

Achieving adequate ventilation in relation to the requirements of a stadium full of spectators is a key design criterion however ventilation requirements in the vicinity of the turf are often overlooked.  Efficient ventilation immediately above the leaf canopy is an important component of sustainable turf management as it facilitates the exchange of heat, carbon dioxide and water vapour.  There is some debate amongst experts over the precise air velocity required however there is a consensus that this lies in the range 0.2 to 0.5 m/s.
